The human form contains such mystery, such strength and weakness, joy and sorrow. It embodies so many changes as it progresses through life. In my mind's eye, I look beyond the physical to see what lies within.

This workshop will focus on working with the human head and figure, using water-based clay and very little armature. Anatomy, composition, negative space and an understanding of form will be stressed with the primary goal of analyzing the intangible aspects of the creative process. Models will be used to help move students into their own interpretations.

Day One: Figure studies
Day Two: Portrait studies
Day Three: Putting figure and portrait together
